Stop Sex Trafficking

There are more people in slavery now than any other time in history.

The fastest growing form of trafficking is sexual exploitation.

Victims of sex trafficking are often found in the streets or working in establishments that offer commercial sex acts, i.e. brothels, strip clubs, pornography production houses. Such establishments may operate under the guise of:

  • Massage parlors
  • Escort services
  • Adult bookstores
  • Modeling studios
  • Bars/strip clubs

“You may choose to look the other way but you can never say again that you did not know.”
― William Wilberforce

Vulnerability

Women and children are most vulnerable when it comes to sexual exploitation

Demand

Pornography and the Sex trade (sex tourism, prostitution) fuel the demand to sexually exploit our most vulnerable. Without a demand for commercial sex (prostitution and pornography) there would be no profitability in trafficking for sexual exploitation and the industry would die.

“People were created to be loved. Things were created to be used. The reason why the world is in chaos is because things are being loved and people are being used.” – Unknown

Response

Prevention, Rescue, Rehabilitation, Prosecution, Decreasing Demand

Did you know that rehabilitation of women and children rescued from sexual exploitation is more successful when Christ is involved? Non-faith based organisations have on average a 5% success rate whereas it has been suggested that Christian based successfully rehabilitation rates are over 50%.

Have a think about different systems of law and how it effects sex trafficking?
How effective has the Swedish Kvinnofrid law been? – The laws on prostitution in Sweden make it illegal to buy sexual services, but not to sell them. Pimping, procuring and operating a brothel are also illegal.

Is there anything that you can do to help decrease the demand for commercial sex?
