Honour thy Mother

The biblical interpretation of Exodus 20:12 and Ephesians 6: 1-3 indicates that honouring your father and mother is being respectful in word and action and having an inward attitude of esteem for their position.

I would like to honour my mother by sharing what she has done with her skills and talents since she retired.

My mother has always been very good with her hands and put this to good use while we were growing up by knitting us jerseys to keep us warm in the winter and quilts to snuggle under while we were asleep. When she went back to work some of these projects got put on the back burner for lack of time and energy to accomplish them.

When she retired at the end of last year these skills were brought to the forefront again and Mum has been tirelessly creating baby quilts and knitting jumpers, booties and hats for the local hospital premature baby unit. I hope that some of the quilts displayed below are providing as much warmth as our quilts did when we were growing up and that the knitted products are warming the delicate bodies of some precious young children. You are loved :).
